Payday runway
Project your current spending pace to payday and see a sustainable daily or weekly pace.
Payday runway projects the current observed spending pace through the remaining days of the cycle.
Inputs
- current available pool after commitments;
- confirmed discretionary spending in the cycle;
- days elapsed; and
- days remaining to payday.
Outputs
observed daily spend = spending so far ÷ days elapsed
projected future spend = observed daily spend × days remaining
projected end balance = available pool − projected future spend
recommended daily spend = max(0, available pool) ÷ days remaining
The weekly recommendation is the daily amount multiplied by up to seven remaining days.
Status
- On track: the projected end balance is positive with comfortable room.
- Caution: projected spending uses at least 80% of the spendable pool.
- Shortfall: the current pace projects a negative end balance.
Chart
The day-by-day chart applies the observed daily pace to show a deterministic projected balance through payday. It does not model market returns, future income surprises, or unapproved payments.
