No account required
Why Salli has no sign-up flow, and how local wallets differ from a Salli login.
There is no Salli account to create. Salli deliberately has no email sign-up, password, bank-login connection, or cloud profile.
What happens on first launch
The app creates an encrypted local data store on the device. Your language, budget cycle, transactions, wallets, plans, and rules are saved there. The database key is held by the platform's secure keystore.
“Account” means wallet
In Salli screens and reports, an account is a money source such as:
- a bank account detected from a masked bank alert;
- a debit or credit card profile;
- Cash;
- a mobile wallet such as FriMi, Genie, eZ Cash, or mCash; or
- another manually created wallet.
An automatically discovered profile needs only the institution and masked digits in the bank alert. A manually created profile can optionally store a complete account/card value encrypted on the device so Salli can compare its final 3–4 digits with future alerts. It is never uploaded, and Salli never needs an online-banking password.
Create a local wallet
Open Accounts
Go to More → Accounts.
Add a wallet
Tap Add wallet and select the institution or wallet type.
Name and configure it
Set a recognizable label, currency, optional masked number, and opening balance.
Choose whether it is active
Disabled wallets keep their history but no longer appear in normal transaction-entry choices.
Move to another phone
Use More → Settings → Your data → Export my data to create a versioned JSON backup. On the receiving phone, copy the backup to the clipboard and choose Restore a backup.
Future cloud features
A cloud or family-account system is explicitly deferred. If it is introduced, it must use a separate consent and key-exchange design. The current app remains fully local and does not silently create an online identity.
