Frequently asked questions

Short answers about accounts, privacy, bank access, calculations, platforms, and data ownership.

How do I create a Salli account?

You do not. Salli has no sign-up, email, password, or cloud account. “Accounts” in the app are local money wallets.

Does Salli need my online-banking login?

No. It does not connect to online banking or store bank credentials.

Does Salli upload my SMS or ledger?

No automatic upload exists. Android processing is on-device. Export or sharing happens only when you initiate it.

Why is a bank SMS waiting for review?

Review keeps uncertain amount, category, merchant, or account evidence from silently changing your ledger.

Why did Salli ignore an OTP or promotion?

That is expected. Security, OTP, promotional, declined, pending, unknown, malformed, and implausible messages must not become transactions.

Can Salli auto-track on iPhone?

No. Apple does not let third-party apps read the SMS inbox. Manual and receipt paths remain available.

Do transfers count as spending?

No. Linked own-wallet transfers are excluded from income, expense, budget, Safe to Spend, and trend totals.

Why does the budget cycle not match the calendar month?

Salli is payday-aligned by design. Use Monthly review for calendar-month reports.

Are receipt images included in backup?

No. JSON contains attachment references, not image binaries.

Can I use multiple currencies?

Yes. Wallets can preserve native values for supported currencies while reporting and budgets use LKR conversion evidence.

Is every bank logo an SMS parser?

No. The wallet/institution catalog is broader than the current parser bundle. See Supported institutions.

Is the app ready for public production use?

Not yet. Local features work, but parser evidence, native language review, legal review, store permissions, and release operations remain open.
