Backup, export, restore, and delete

Own a complete Salli backup, export a ledger CSV, restore atomically, or erase financial data.

CSV ledger export​

CSV is designed for spreadsheets and contains confirmed transaction fields. It excludes raw SMS bodies because it is a ledger export, not an evidence dump.

JSON personal backup​

The versioned JSON package is Salli's complete portability format. It includes persisted record families such as:

  • transactions and source evidence;
  • wallets, categories, and budgets;
  • goals and scheduled plans;
  • seettu records;
  • merchant, categorization, and ignore rules;
  • unmatched local evidence;
  • corpus metadata; and
  • financial cycle settings.

Attachment references are included, but receipt image binaries stay on the original phone.

Restore​

Copy a Salli JSON backup

Put the complete backup text on the receiving phone's clipboard.

Choose Restore a backup

Salli validates the package before showing its transaction, budget, account, and plan summary.

Type RESTORE

Typed confirmation makes replacement explicit.

Complete the atomic replacement

Validation or database failure leaves the existing financial data unchanged.

Restore replaces; it does not merge. App lock, notification, language, theme, onboarding, and tour preferences stay bound to the receiving device. SMS auto-tracking is forced off until you explicitly consent again.

Delete everything​

Choose Delete everything, read the full scope, and type DELETE.

Deletion removes:

  • transactions and receipt photos;
  • accounts, budgets, and custom categories;
  • goals, scheduled/recurring payments, and seettu;
  • local rules and unmatched SMS evidence; and
  • payday, expected income, savings reserve, spending limit, and category order.

It keeps language, theme, security, notification choices, and onboarding state. It turns SMS auto-tracking off.

If database deletion fails, Salli reports that nothing changed. If financial records are erased but receipt-file cleanup is partial, it reports the partial state and allows cleanup to be retried.
